I think all the caption this needs is "I hike in Pearls" |
I live in
I am a passionate, selft taught student of herbal healing and natural living, but most of all I am a passionate daughter of Christ. I am a sinful and imperfect creature, but with Christ as my help and guide I strive to live each day for His Glory, and strive daily to conform more to His image.
I believe as a Christian, that whatever your passion be, you take it Captive for Christ. We should start a blazing revolution for whatever area that excites our God given interest and use our passion to show the world just what Christ can do.
In the herbal world especially, a place fraught with paganism and creation worship, I think it so important for Christians to remember that it is God that gave us these amazing creation, and He should be praised and glorified.
My goal for this blog is to help bring the focus away from the creation and back to the Creator.
I pray my blog encourages you to take your field of interest captive for the Glory of Christ and to bring the Glory of whatever you do to Him alone.
A big more about me...
I love spending time with my family and having fun, rambling, and sometimes deep conversations with them. I am so incredibly blessed to have my parents and two brothers with whom to share this beautiful life God has given us.
I have many and varied interests, herbalism being only one of many. I love to cook and bake, I like to read, and when the mood hits, I devour books voraciously. I like old movies of the 30's and 40's and a select few modern (mostly british). I love to listen to music - classical, celtic, instrumental, folk, and 40's and 50's vocal swing/jazz. I play piano and I am learning the guitar. I like to draw with pen and ink. I like painting with watercolors. I enjoy the occasional forray into creative writing, but mostly stick to blog posts.
I used to run a small business making handmade stationery, greeting cards and altered journals, but have retired that venture for now.
I knit and crochet. I greatly enjoy target shooting and skeet. I love to dance. I sing while I do dishes. I love to talk creationism, politics, economics and theology with my dad, I talk food, style, knitting, and homekeeping with my mom. I am humbled everyday by their grace and the beauty and forgiveness of Christ that shines through my parents.
I sin, I grumble, I can be a grump, I am impatient - but with Christ's help I am conforming each day a little more into His image and into the woman He has designed me to be.
